Don’t miss these August events that are happening near The Remy apartments in Lanham, MD.
When: August 10, 4-11 p.m.
Where: Yards Park, DC
Truckeroo is a world famous food truck festival held at The Bullpen, showcasing the hottest food trucks in the DC area. There are about two dozen food trucks that show up and sell everything from Korean tacos to homemade ice cream.
Check out the participating trucks here. The event also features live music, cold drinks, games and more. Truckeroo is held monthly from April through October; if you miss it this month, the event is scheduled again for September 14.
Chesapeake Crab, Wine & Beer Festival
When: August 18
Where: National Harbor, Maryland
Visit the “World’s Largest & Best Crab Feast” for a day you won’t forget! The festival has over 65,000 crabs, over 50 beers and wines, arts and crafts, live music and lots of family fun. With a variety of ticket options ranging from all you can eat and drink to a la carte, everyone can enjoy. The event will have thousands of tables and huge tents for cracking all the crabs you can.
Comcast Xfinity Outdoor Film Festival
When: August 23 – 26
Where: North Bethesda
What’s more fun than enjoying a movie under the stars in the summer? This four-day outdoor film festival benefits the National Institutes of Health Children’s Charities and is only a short drive from your apartment in Lanham, MD. Grab your chair or blankets, enjoy on-site food from Ridgewells and settle down on the lawn to enjoy a classic movie. Activities begin at 7:30 p.m. each night and no tickets are needed.

17th Street Festival
When: August 25
Where: 17th Street, NW, DC
Join this festival to celebrate the community of 17th Street and its diversity of restaurants and retailers. There will be 100 vendors, including local businesses, area nonprofits and over 60 artists displaying jewelry, crafts, fine arts and more.
There will also be a kids’ area with a moon bounce, ball crawl, face painting and games throughout the day. Finally, there will be live music and a pet zone for those looking to shop or adopt a new pet!
The event is free to attend but you can purchase a festival pass that gives you additional discounts at participating restaurants and taverns during the festival.
